Something Special For You!

I have been working on my website and new designs for spring, but I always find a little time to check out some of the many blogs I love.

I was visiting
Moda's Bake shop and ModaLissa when I saw all the beautiful things made out of selvage. Sadly, I thought of all the selvage I have unthinkingly tossed away, never dreaming that I would regret it. I looked around my Studio and noticed the many Moda pre-cuts ... they all look so beautiful wrapped in their ribbon ... and I suddenly realized that all was not lost!

I have designed a lot of patterns with Layer Cakes and Jelly Rolls over the past couple of years. I just hate to throw out the pretty Moda ribbons so I have been stashing them in a jar. I pulled out a few, and here is the finished product!

I used my Homespun Hearts pincushion pattern and made two, so I'm going to share. Leave a comment on this post and I will do a draw for one of them on Saturday, March 14th.

Have a wonderful week!

  4. I know what you mean about the regret. I've thrown many things away to only regret it much later. You've got a great idea to use the Moda ribbons.

I would love to be entered to win! I have recently become aware of uses for selvages! Your idea is a great one--lovely pincushion! I love the orange in it as I just participated in the OP (Orange Pile) challenge by Pat Sloan and have a wonderful orangy quilt as a result! ~Deb
