The last couple of weeks have been very busy around here with more new patterns and a new website under development. I posted that I would have my website up by March 1st but it looks like I'll miss that deadline -- these projects always take longer than you think they will. So now the likely launch date is March 12th. I'll let you know the moment it's ready.

It will have a fresh look and some new features that I hope you'll like, including a shopping cart to make it easy to buy the patterns you want. In the meantime if you would like to order my patterns just send me an email and I will get right back to you.

Enjoy your weekend!

Pure Love!

I love my husband

I love my son

I love my daughter

I love my family

I love my pets

I love my friends

I love me business and I LOVE my fabric

but when i think about pure love I think about my daughter Jenny and her love for her pony Holly.

Jenny's love for Holly is 100%, never failing and always true. I admire my little girl and how much she has grown up since we found her Holly. This past year has been a sweet journey for the two of them of friendship and love. It has had its ups and downs, with Holly being ill and Jenny being scared for her, but in the end pure love prevailed and they are better then ever together.

I am so grateful that she has had this moment in time. A friendship and love that she will never forget.

Happy Valentines day!
Margot

A Gift from a Visitor!

This is my last posting about the birds in my garden, I promise! I just can't help myself!

A very nice gentleman by the name of Peter Tamas was in our area last weekend visting from Toronto, Ontario and asked if he could take some pictures of the birds that were on our property. He sent me these pictures this morning and they took my breath away.

What a wonderful gift! Thank you Peter!

Baking Cookies

I'm baking Sugar Cookies! Well actually, I'm designing a new pattern for Moda's Bake Shop that I've named Sugar Cookies. It's not ready for me to show you yet but it will be very soon and it's almost as sweet as the real thing. If you haven't been to visit the Bake Shop yet, grab a cup of coffee and click on the cup cake ... enjoy!

Six More Weeks of Winter!

Another beautiful morning and more woodland friends have come to visit. Life in the country is so sweet this time of year!

This owl and many like it are attracting bird watchers from far and wide to visit our area. This Great Grey Owl was up in one of our trees yesterday just before sunset and our daughter went out through three feet of snow to get a close up. Good job Jenny!

I wonder how many more weeks of winter this wise owl would predict we'll have? An early spring would be nice!

Margot

Edit: February 6, 2009

I just took this picture and I had to add it to this posting. I'm thinking these bird watchers must have spotted something in the trees outside my studio window...or maybe I am wrong and they are quilters looking to get a sneak peek at my new designs...how funny is this!

Kimberly's Invitation

Once again Kimberly from the Fat Quarter shop has invited me to design a block for her Designer Mystery Block of the Month Quilt. I am sooooo excited to be invited back this year. Look at the list of the designers who are participating:

Acorn Quilt and Gift Company, Bloom Creek, Bunny Hill Designs, Cotton Way, Debbie Beaves, Deborah Designs, Fig Tree Quilts, Me & My Sister Designs, Quilt Soup, Sandy Gervais, The Pattern Basket (that's me!) and Thimble Blossoms.

How cool is this! To be included with all these amazing designers is wonderful! I had a couple of sleepless nights thinking about my star block design. I wanted it to be original, easy and beautiful. No pressure at all ... haha !!!

I'm happy to say that my block is completed and I can't wait to see the finished quilt.
