A Little More Space

I'm spending my days writing, writing, writing ... lots of new patterns!  So since I don't have much to show you yet, I thought I would share some pictures of the new fabric side of my office.  Last year I posted lots of pictures of my studio here but I'm already bursting at the seams so I decided it was time to get organized and move some fabric into my office which is right beside my studio.

Last week we purchased some shelves for my office. I think I might add some crown molding to the top and decorative trim to the bottom just to dress them up a little. The frame in the corner is for a bulletin board that is in the works.  It's so nice to finally have my fabric bolts up on shelves.  I also created another cutting space -  it's great to have a little more room.

Hope you all enjoy a wonderful week!

Almost Finished

Things have been very busy around here, I have been working on lots of new quilt designs. They are almost finished so I will be posting pictures very soon.

Here is a sneak peek of one - it's called "Let it Snow".  I designed this pattern with a collection called Holiday Frost by Jan Shade Beach for Henry Glass.

As soon as I finished this quilt it was whisked away to be displayed at Quilt Market, but I took this picture before it left.  I will have more photos to share with you when it comes back.

I love these pillow shams featuring Blushing!  I found them on the sew4home website.  Here's a link to the tutorial

Happy Saturday!!

Another Snow Day

I haven’t posted on my blog for a couple of days because I've been busy finishing up some new Christmas quilt patterns that will be released next month ... so I guess it’s fitting that today (believe it or not) is another Snow Day.  The kids are home from school and we have lots of freezing rain and snow. It’s really starting to feel like the never-ending winter.
Please tell me it’s spring where you are!

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Free Patterns!

When I designed Blushing I also designed four free patterns to accompany this collection.  You can find three of these free patterns on the Henry Glass website.

Below is the fourth pattern, this one is not on the Henry Glass website but I really like this design so I thought I would share it with you.
The fabric requirements for this quilt are:

18 fat quarters
2 1/2 yards for the background
1 1/2 yards for the border and 1/2 yard binding.

The directions for this quilt are the same as the large Blushing quilt that can be downloaded from the Henry Glass website  - use the picture above for fabric placement.

Happy Easter

Buddy Rabbit came to visit us in July 2010. (my original post).  The plan was that we would look after him for a couple of weeks while his family was on vacation.  But when they returned they told us they didn't really want him back. :(

So ... being the animal lovers that we are, we adopted him and have loved him every since!

Happy Easter from my family to you and yours!

Some Inspiration!

My husband and son are back from Paris and they brought me home a copy of marie claire idées just in time for Easter.  I love this magazine so I thought I would share with you a look inside.  So many great ideas and lots of inspiration!  It's that once a year treat that I really look forward to.

Green Grass!

Some early morning visitors on our front lawn. The snow is melting and Spring is finally in the air. For me it was the perfect way to start this wonderful holiday weekend.

We have been here for 6 years and honestly this is something I will never take for granted. It reminds me why we live here and how much I love the country life.

Happy Good Friday!

Holding On

This is what Spring looks like around our house this evening.  Yesterday was the first day of Spring but it sure doesn't look that way here. Thankfully the temperature is very mild so I know this snow won't last much longer. Winter is holding on and I'm secretly loving it!

We are lucky to be surrounded with lots of beautiful evergreens.  A little bit of snow and it feels like Christmas.

Together

Butterfields and Blushing are on my cutting table today. I'm working on new quilt designs and I'm loving the two of them together!

Happy First Day of Spring!
